You Can Work For Community Connections

Community Connections hires staff for our three locations: Durango, Cortez and Pagosa Springs. We maintain between 130 to 150 employees. We hire for varied shifts full time (36 - 40 hours a week), three quarter time (26 - 35 hours a week), and part time (any hours under 25 a week). Since Community Connections provides services to individuals 24 hours a day 7 days a week, we are able to work around the demanding schedules of students, parents and seniors.

To provide support we hire individuals that are willing to be mentors, teachers, advisors, and consultants as well as be willing to meet new friends. The support staff positions require the prospective applicant to work directly with people with developmental disabilities. Our role is to encourage the individuals we support to become part of the community by working in, playing in and getting to know all that their community and the people who live in it has to offer. Mentoring and education is an integral part of a support staff's role. The staff will educate not only the person with the disability but the community as well. An average day for a staff person might be helping a person work on hygiene goals or nutrition goals. Perhaps they would go hiking, biking, swimming, skiing or help this person fill out a job application. Where else can you get paid for having fun and enjoying the beauty of the towns of Durango, Cortez or Pagosa Springs?
