Community Connections, Inc. is a not-for-profit company that provides opportunities for persons with developmental disabilities to lead healthy and fulfilling lives.

We educate businesses, families and communities to be advocates for change and to promote independence.

FACTS ABOUT CCI:

• Has celebrated 20+ years of operation
• One of the largest non-profit companies in the region
• Served over 220 clients age birth to senior citizens in the past year
• No group homes; no sheltered workshops- all live and work in their communities
• 54% of adults who are able to work have jobs
• $4.2 million annual operating budget for past three years
• 11% of operating revenue supports over-head and administrative costs
• Employed approximately 150 staff in 2006 in La Plata, Montezuma and Archuleta Counties
• Received $35,000 in grants, donations and fundraising revenue
• Benefit package for staff is excellent; entry level wage for support staff starts at $8/hour
• CCI provides a comprehensive training curriculum

Some of our support staff who work directly with the people we serve have been employed with CCI for up to 12 years while others may find it is not the job for them. We work within our communities through a variety of different approaches to recruit quality staff. This recruitment effort is difficult. With such a high cost of living, especially in La Plata County, recruiting quality staff can be a most difficult challenge.
