Day Programming Options for Adults
Community Connections serves over 112 adults in the region who have varying degrees of abilities. We have two base sites where adults can gather Monday through Friday to start their day before going into the community to work, socialize, learn new skills and recreate. The sites are located in Durango and Cortez. In addition, several adults meet in our Bayfield community to have access to scheduled activities and supported employment. The two sites are located within large facilities that are designated as Adult Day Activity Centers and are owned by our company.
- The Durango site, known as the Holly House, serves an average of 18 individuals per day with individuals in services coming and going to jobs, volunteer work, medical appointments and recreational activities in the community.
- The Holly House has a community garden and has constructed a green house that will be available to community members. Between community members and the adults in services our goal is to create a growing relationship that will allow people to purchase and enjoy the fruits of their labors.
- The Pine Street House is located in Cortez and serves approximately 15 adults each day.
- The Pine Street House works in partnership with the Cortez School District and Southwest Board of Cooperative Services utilizing a section of the Pine Street House as a transitional work center for mid-school and high school students.
