Tambo

TAMBO (a Quetzal word for "place of respite") is a regular opportunity for parents of children with special needs to have a well-deserved time to themselves while their children enjoy various activities with adult supervision. The Durango program, based at the Mason Center, is a result of a collaboration between CCI, San Juan Basin Health, Durango Parks and Recreation, and SUCAP. Volunteers from the local colleges and community are paired with the children while parents enjoy a movie, shop, eat out, or spend time with other siblings. A similar program is being developed in Montezuma county.

Pre-registration and advanced sign-up is required, in order to schedule enough volunteers!
For more information or to register your child, please email the Tambo Coordinator or call 385-3451.

Volunteers are always welcome! :)
Please email the Tambo Coordinator or call 385-3451 to sign up as a volunteer.
